Stone Surface Applications

Ideal for patios, outdoor kitchens, and walkways, our methods also excel in beautifying interior stone features. We offer four main types of stone applications:

Stone Polishing

Stone polishing is a two-step process used when the aesthetic quality of the stone is a concern. First, we smooth the stone to remove imperfections. In step two, we polish the stone to give it a brilliant finish.

Stone Bush Hammering

Bush hammering creates a rustic rough finish, altering the natural colors of the stone and providing a textured, non-slip grip. While ‘flaming’ is preferred for granite, bush hammering is ideal for exterior applications like sculptures, stairways, and paving. Non-planar items, particularly marble, benefit from this technique.

Stone Leathering

Leathering on granite or marble reduces glossiness while enhancing the stone’s natural beauty and ease of maintenance. Starting with honing, we then apply diamond-tipped brushes across the surface to add texture. The resulting texture varies with the stone type. Leathered finishes are less reflective than polished surfaces, offering a subtle sheen that allows your personal style to emerge.

Stone Antiquing

This technique suits any natural stone. Antiquing involves polishing the stone with a heavy-duty brush, which gradually wears down the stone to create a textured finish. We then seal the surface, smoothing and polishing to achieve a glossy or matte appearance. This process also allows for a ‘distressed’ look, making your patio perfectly textured for all weather conditions.
